Manganese is the world's fourth-most consumed metal by weight behind Iron, aluminium and copper and 90% of all manganese consumed annually goes into steel as an alloying agent. It is a brittle, hard gray-white metal that looks much like iron. Manganese is the desired alloying element for applications in which cost-savings and moderate corrosion resistance is preferred. Thus, manganese ore is employed in a wide range of applications, including 200-series stainless steels used for mostly consumer applications, other steels, non-ferrous alloys in the canning industry, electronic components, and specialty chemical applications. Nowadays, manganese demand is largely driven by fluctuations in Chinese steel production.
However, domestic manganese production can not meet the huge demand. Large gap between demand and supply make China import much electrolytic manganese metal from foreign markets. Small manganese investors should seize this valuable chance to expand the mining scale, undoubtedly, small manganese ore washing plant and machine can hold on to their favorable position in the global manganese mining industry.
